SENHABITAT takes place one week before the Youth Olympic Games open (31 October–13 November): hotel demand in Dakar is likely to be high from late October. Book as soon as your dates are set.
Can I stay at the exhibition venue?
Yes: the exhibition is held at the King Fahd Palace, a hotel and conference centre. Depending on availability, we also offer hotels in the Plateau and on the Corniche, with transfers.
What is the weather like in late October?
Hot and still humid at the end of the rainy season, around 30 °C during the day. Light clothing, and a jacket for air-conditioned rooms.
I am not attending the event, but I will be in Dakar on these dates: can you help?

Hotels near the venue are fully booked: what can I do?
We look for availability in our network, near the venue and in other districts, and arrange the transfers. Contact us as soon as your dates are set: the earlier the request, the wider the choice.
Do I need a visa for Senegal?
It depends on your nationality: many countries are exempt from visas for short stays. Check with the Senegalese embassy in your country before booking, and see our practical information.
How do I pay locally?
The currency is the CFA franc (XOF), pegged to the euro: 1 euro equals 655.957 CFA francs. Cards are accepted in business hotels and many restaurants; keep some cash for small purchases. Mobile payment is widely used.
How do I get around Dakar?
Taxis and ride-hailing apps are available. To keep to a meeting schedule or move a group, a car with a driver remains the safest option: we book it for you.
Where can I find a room for a business meeting?
By the hour, half-day or day, in a hotel near the event venue or your accommodation. Describe your needs and we will send you several proposals.

Can I extend my stay after the event?
Gorée is about twenty minutes by ferry from Dakar port; the Petite Côte, Saint-Louis and the Sine Saloum suit a two- or three-day stay. Our experiences offer ideas; we organise the programme.
